Chairman's Message

It is my great pleasure to write again as your Chairman for the fourth year.  I believe I am only the second person to do more than the three years but I enjoy the role and have a really good team to work with.
As I reported at our 2011 AGM the Centre records show that year on year we are increasing attendance on our rallies.  This is not only with our members as we have attracted over 165 visitors this year!
We have had more people awarded their fellowships too.  It was bitter sweet that we had nine people going for the seven committee places this year.  I say that because I would have been more than happy to work with all nine and had we been able to take them all I would have done.
Other Centres I speak to are really quite envious of our current status and long may it continue.  I am very pleased to report that this year we will be getting the youth section up and running in some fashion, watch the web page for news.  Some of the committee roles have changed this year as you can see below.
When you attend a rally we will of course respect your privacy and leave you in the peace and quiet if you wish.  However, if you see people gathering near awnings etc, please feel free to wander over and join in.
As I said this time last year, we have a good rally programme for 2012 with some new venues and I look forward to seeing you all on a rally field soon and remember, it is not just any old rally; it is a West Sussex Rally!

Terry Jackman       - my sausage supplier and safety officer.
Chris Jackman       - wife of Terry, a smiley lady, orderer of plaques and welfare gifts.
Geoff Lamb            - still laid back and South East Region Rep.
Lynne Lamb           - wife of Geoff, keeper of ‘sooty’ and now compiler of the Rally book.
Stan Brown            - new this year and Competitions officer.
John Woodward      - likes hugs, doer of hard sums and keeping VAT man happy.                        Dave Wightman      - Vice Chair, equipment officer and fixer of anything!
Carol Wightman     - wife of Dave, Honorary Rally Secretary and web mistress.
Tony Nash             - was co opted last year, now voted on and Youth Liaison Officer.
Keith Trantum        - smooth operator and South East Region Rep.
Sandy Harris         - Honorary Secretary, special lady and my wife.
